Grading System

The student's progress is shown by what colour belt they wear. Starting at white belt a beginner gradually progresses through the different coloured belts called Kyu grades all the way to the coveted black belt 1st dan and beyond. The following list shows the order of the coloured belt grades in Goshin Kenpo-Jutsu.

For a beginner to achieve black belt grade it may take anything from 3 to 5 years or more. This depends upon the amount of work they have put into training not only in the class but at home as well. Also previous training in a similar system may be taken into account to reduce the time necessary but Martial Arts is all about the journey not the destination.
